I think our bedroom may be one of my favourite rooms in the house. I love the sloping ceilings and the Velux windows which add a bit of character to a new build home. One of the questions I get asked the most is how get away with so much pink and the answer is the husband is colour blind so he thinks the pinks are creams – result right! As many of you will have guessed from my Instagram page pink and grey is one of my favourite colour palettes and I find it perfect for a bedroom as its so calming yet cosy at the same time.
Anyway, here are my most frequently asked questions on Instagram regarding this room and also details of where everything is from.
What colour have used used on your pink wall? – This is called Blush and it’s by Dulux. I tried so many different pinks which weren’t quite right before finding this shade which is a really subtle pink. (Top tip: paint your testers on to white paper rather than directly on the wall so you can move them about and see how the colour looks in different lights and areas of the room – it also doesn’t make your wall look like a patchwork quilt whilst you are deciding)
Where is your bedspread from? – This is from Dusk.com. and its the reversible Twightlight range in pink and grey. Ours is the bedspread (not the throw) and it’s just about fits our super king size bed.
Bedding: I do like to change the bedding up fairly regularly as I feel it can completely change the look of a room. This polka dot bedding below is my latest purchase and I love it. It actually took me ages to find the right ‘dot’ as I didn’t want a regular, even spot, but one that was more random (fussy much) This one is reversible and I finally found it on eBay. I’ve pasted a link to if for you here:
Another piece of bedding I am regularly asked about is the blush pink pom pom set below. This is by Catherine Lansfield and I’ve posted a link to this here
Furniture: The original bedside tables above were from Home bargains a couple of years back so not sure that they are still selling these but the current bedside tables (shown below) are from Nine schools They also produce some gorgeous sideboards and dressing/console tables in the same design that are available in white or dove grey.
These bedside lamps are from Iconic lights and are the Mella Mushroom lamps in grey and copper
The large white ornate mirror is from Melody Maison and its a real beauty, adding a great statement to the room as well as throwing around lots of light.
Our ottoman storage bed base and ‘Zoe’ headboard are both from Esupasaver and are in the colour silver and in the fabric faux suede.
The grey pom pom cushions are from Country Abodes and they are amazing quality!
The dressing table in gorgeous quilted, grey velvet with rose gold tassel handles is from Beautify Worldwide and I absolutely love it and how unique it is! They even have a matching storage stool and bedside tables!
The pink rose velvet dressing table storage stool is from Melody Maison. I don’t think they stock this exact same one anymore but they have a very similar square one here. They are brilliant for storing your hairdryer/straighteners etc. in.
The Wardrobes: these are another popular question as they are quite a bit shorter than standard height wardrobes as we needed them to fit beneath the sloping ceiling. We eventually found these by searching for childrens wardrobes and they fit in perfectly. These ones were from Argos and we then just changed the handles.
The drawers are from Ikea and are part of the Hemnes range and they offer really good storage with nice deep drawers. On top of the wardrobes are these white and rose gold trunks from Beautify Worldwide. They were one of our first purchases for this bedroom and are still one of my favourite items. I use them to store all my winter jumpers in but they work really well stacked on top of each other at the end of the bed or as bedside tables too.
The accessories shown in this image: White tray, pink bud vases and grey geo tray and pink plate are all from layered lounge. The mug is from TK Maxx and the sheepskin is from Dunelm.
The grey velvet storage bench with rose gold legs is also from Beautify Worldwide and it’s fantastic for storing all your cushions that you take off the bed each night (why do we do this again?)
So I think that’s everything, but if you have any questions at all or if I’ve missed anything out just let me know.
Thanks for reading!
